Noelle and John's Wedding

Wow, our first wedding on our own and the photos are finally done, and they're awesome! Noelle and John are a great couple, they made our job easy just by being themselves.

November's Wallpaper

There are so many different images that could describe November that I had a hard time choosing one for this month. I had reflections of fall colors, biscuits, and finally this image of just a few leaves. In the end less is more, and this simple image of three leaves won out.

Up

As we watched the movie "Up" last night for the third time, I was reminded of the importance of photography. If you've never seen it, Up is another in a series of Disney/Pixar movies that manages to entertain kids while subtly giving parents a message with a nod and a wink. Without giving too much away Carl Fredricksen, one of the main characters, spends much of his life searching for adventure but eventually comes to the realization that life is an adventure through the help of an old scrap book.

Photographs are a glimpse of what makes life special. The things we remember, and how we remember them. The little things, and the big events. They show us the way we are, and will eventually become the way we were.

So take lots of them, I don't want to miss a thing.

The magic of childhood

It was an ordinary park with a path through the oaks, but children have a way of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Trifocals

I need trifocals. No my eyes are fine, I need them for my business. I find myself focusing on long term goals when I should be meeting more immediate needs, and getting caught up in little details when I should be looking long term. It's not always easy to prioritize things and those priorities can change sometimes on a daily basis.

Lord, help me to see things from Your perspective. Help me to know when to focus on meeting the daily needs and when to look long term. Help me make wise decisions that will move me in the right direction both today, tomorrow and in the future.

First Storm of the Season

It's the first major weather system to move through Sacramento this year and we once again have lake front property.

Happy Fall

Fall is definitely in the air! The weather is cooling, the wind is picking up, and the first leaves are turning. October's wallpaper was taken about this time last year as patches of waning afternoon sunlight warmed the last of the season's fruit sitting on a hay bail.
